This the best I've seen yet! Author Lynn Viehl has given a complete breakdown of her royalty statement. This lets everybody know everything--what, when, where and how much--between authors and the publishing industry, and this is for a bestselling author. Check it out Lynn's blog on the Genreality site: The Reality of a Times Bestseller . It's worth it! She's a terrific lady for sharing information.

Logline Pitches
I don't know about you but, for me, loglines are hell to create. Check out Edittorent's helpful hints here and continuing here.

Luck, Talent, or Hard Work
I say that most times it's sheer luck for new writers! Also, writing the right stuff, being at the right place, at the right time, during a good mood helps immensely (my observations).
So check out Moonrat's Editorial Ass blog entitled Hedging Your Bets (or, Why, God?!) and read the six hedgers. Very interesting.

Back In The Saddle
Twas a long vacation! Then I came home with a viral something or other that shot my voice all to hell. Ugh.
Latest news (bad) is my editor left the publishing house where I sold my first book. I'll miss her--great lady. I do have a new editor, and Danielle is sounding great as well. We'll be chatting very soon now that my voice has returned.
I'm so far behind with my writing. I did a lot of editing and changes on a current story while on vacation, long-hand, and didn't get them transferred to my word processor. Woe is me.
I'm so far behind on reading blogs. Lots of good stuff out there that impact us all whether you're a writer or an employee trying to hang on to your job. The inherited economic climate is dismal and, like President Obama says, it'll take time and it won't be easy for a turnaround. Good luck to everyone. We'll need it.

Hiatus
I've been busy since the New Year. I'm going out of town tomorrow for 2-3 weeks. BUT, I'm taking my trusty Dana to work on edits.
Y'all have fun now, hear? Talk among yourselves. LOL.

A New Year
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009
I'm looking forward to the new year. Hope everyone brought it in safe and sound. On the other hand, I'm out of here again soon. Another vacation. Yahoo!
